ETHANOL OPPORTUNITY

Pyramid BioEnergy is a green start-up company formed to produce ethanol using a proprietary gasification/catalyst technology in conjunction with inexpensive, renewable biomass feedstock to become the lowest-cost ethanol producer in North America.

Our cutting edge technology can dramatically reduce our country’s dependency on foreign oil by producing ethanol from renewable energy sources at half the cost of current technology.  Our “Cleantech” enterprise utilizes disruptive technology and is poised to upset current ethanol production methods by utilizing biomass feedstock to revolutionize the transportation fuel industry and deliver the lowest cost ethanol in North America.  Pyramid BioEnergy is party to related material patents and we hold related technology license agreements for ethanol production facilities.  We have a signed a Letter of Intent to purchase 100% of our forecast capacity from a major fuel distributor.

The following chart summarizes Pyramid's expected cost advantage over competing processes and technologies.

Operating Cost Comparison

Currently, the majority of domestic ethanol producers use corn as the feedstock.  If 100% of domestic corn crops were used to produce ethanol, it would provide only 20% of total U.S. transportation fuel demand.  Our process is twice as efficient as current technology.  The leading global benchmark for ethanol use in transportation fuels is Brazil, where blended fuels use an average of 30% ethanol compared to an average of 3.5% for the U.S.   At a recent Energy Summit hosted by Reuters, Acting Deputy Secretary of Energy, Jeffery Kupfer, among other things, discussed this issue, confirmed the distinct advantages of cellulosic over corn based production methods, and reaffirmed the Obama Administration's commitment to cellulossic ethanol:

Our process can use tires, paper, wood, grass, plastic, and solid waste to convert the carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen in the feedstock into biofuel using a gasification-based technology where synthesis gas from the feedstock is fed to a catalyst reactor to yield 100% ethanol.

The process supplies most of its ongoing thermal energy needs, requiring only a small amount of natural gas.  Plant emissions are typical of natural gas fuel combustion and are well within all environmental emission standards.  As a regional business, we have an advantage over corn-based ethanol production, where either the ethanol or the corn feedstock must be imported from the Midwest.  Our target customers are regional gasoline blending distributors. As federal and state clean fuel initiatives continue to escalate demand for ethanol, Pyramid BioEnergy, is poised for our technological breakthrough which can make it bigger than any new industry development in the last 50 years!
